Jo Gell is presently Technical Manager of SMARTlab. Previously she was Project Manager/Director at AudioRom, a multiple award-winning producer in interactive media, providing content for the BBC, Channel 4, Nokia, Sky, and The Science Museum (London and Manchester) among others, as well as exhibiting groundbreaking work at the Tate Gallery, the ICA (London) and the Louvre. Previous to this she was Production Manager at CRT Multimedia, producing interactive training materials for the web and on CD-ROM. She holds an MA in Computer Related Design from the Royal College of Art, London, and a BA Hons in Interactive Arts from Newport School of Art and Design, Gwent, Wales .

Jo grew up in a relatively rough area of central London, and has a strong sense of the inequalities of the funding differentials and the varying degrees of public support for disadvantaged kids within networks of local government Over the years,. She has therefore chosen to do a considerable amount of work with children in inner cities and with behavioural disorders. She has also worked with children in hospitals, and will work on site in the linked hospitals of the TRUST project, teaching moderators how to work with our new technological tools as they are customised for each participating child.
