James Brosnan works as a journalist in the Forum of People with Disabilities Dublin. As part of the Forum's 15th anniversary, it anticipates to launch a Newszine in May. The Newszine will offer a journal-like format tackling issues more in-depth as opposed to the previous newsletter style. It will also run a national panel of writers interested in the disabled community. Examples are Dr. Gerard Quinn and Martin Naughton. The Forum prides itself as Ireland's only non-governmental organisation that is ran by disabled people for themselves. It promotes the inclusive social model over the antiquated medical one.
James uses a voice synthesizer to talk. He writes poetry in his spare time. He first came across the ADA Act while in college and has given various talks since seeing it as a milestone for the rest of the world.
James graduated in 2003 with a First Class Honours in Communications from Dublin City University.
